Dr Denis Venter is a former chief researcher in politics and international relations and former executive director of the Africa Institute of South Africa in Pretoria. He was Nelson Mandela chair professor at the African Studies Centre, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
