InBev on verge of talks with Anheuser, SABMiller soars
World number two brewer InBev was on the verge of merger talks with Anheuser Busch, a newspaper said on Tuesday, while consolidation fever drove up shares in global leader SABMiller. SABMiller shares shot up as much as 8,2% to a 19-week high of £13,24.

ArcelorMittal CEO becomes steelmaker’s chairperson
ArcelorMittal chief executive Lakshmi Mittal became chairperson of the steelmaker on Tuesday, increasing his control over the company. ”I could not have asked for a better chairman during the time of integration,” Mittal told the company’s annual shareholder meeting.

Rwandan gets 20 years in genocide trial
A Belgian court sentenced a former Rwandan army major to 20 years in prison on Thursday for the murder of 10 Belgian peacekeepers and an undetermined number of Rwandan civilians at the start of the 1994 genocide. The public prosecutor had asked for a life sentence for the accused’s role in the genocide.
